OKLCH is the modern CSS color space for design systems: its lightness is perceptual, so changing L by the same amount changes how light a color looks by the same amount, unlike HSL. CMYK values here are a simple device-independent conversion; for exact print matching, ask your printer for their ICC profile. The closest named color is found by perceptual distance.

Frequently asked questions
Which format should I use in CSS?
HEX and rgb() work everywhere. oklch() is supported by all modern browsers since 2023 and is the best choice for design tokens because it makes lighter and darker variants predictable.
Are CMYK values exact?
No conversion from screen RGB to CMYK can be exact without knowing the paper and press. Use these values as a starting point and proof with your printer.
Is PaletteKit free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no account, no watermark and no sign-up. Copy codes and download exports as often as you like.
Are my images and colours uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Photos you extract colours from and palettes you save never leave your device.
Can I use the colours commercially?
Yes. Colours and colour codes cannot be owned by us, and anything you create is yours to use in client work, apps, print and branding.
