About PaletteKit

PaletteKit is a small, independent set of color tools for designers, developers, marketers and anyone choosing colors for a brand, website or classroom poster.

We built it because the popular tools either hide exports behind accounts, upload your images to a server, or ignore accessibility. Here every tool runs in your browser, every swatch shows whether text will be readable on it, and exports for CSS, Tailwind, SVG and PNG are free.

How the color maths works

Palettes, scales and contrast fixes use OKLCH, a perceptual color space, so lightness steps look even. Contrast follows WCAG 2.2 exactly and also reports APCA (0.0.98G-4g), the candidate method for WCAG 3. Color blindness simulation uses the Machado et al. (2009) model.
