Palettes are built in the perceptual OKLCH color space, so lightness is spread evenly and every palette has something dark enough for text and light enough for backgrounds. Choose a harmony rule such as analogous, triadic or complementary, or leave it on auto for variety. Every swatch shows whether white or black text passes WCAG contrast on it, and you can export to CSS variables, a Tailwind config, SVG, PNG or JSON in one click.
Private by design
PaletteKit has no server-side processing. Colors, palettes and images stay in your browser; saved palettes live in local storage on this device only.

Frequently asked questions
How do I lock a color?
Click the lock icon on a swatch (or press L while hovering it). Locked colors stay put when you press the spacebar, and the first locked color anchors the harmony so new colors match it.
How is this different from Coolors?
The core spacebar flow is the same, but PaletteKit also shows text contrast on every swatch, uses perceptual OKLCH lightness so palettes are usable for UI, and exports Tailwind v3 and v4 configs for free with no account.
Is PaletteKit free?
Yes. Every tool is free with no account, no watermark and no sign-up. Copy codes and download exports as often as you like.
Are my images and colours uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Photos you extract colours from and palettes you save never leave your device.
Can I use the colours commercially?
Yes. Colours and colour codes cannot be owned by us, and anything you create is yours to use in client work, apps, print and branding.
